Astronomical Cabin fever

OK here we are it’s late winter or early spring and many of us are going “stir crazy” other wise known as “Cabin Fever” here in New England. We were teased by Mother Nature a few weeks ago with warm unseasonably weather in the mid 60’s to lower 70’s . I was outside with only a sweatshirt and no long Jons or layered cloths. I felt great and so many people did as well here in New England. To go from 30’s and then briskly to lower 70’s really was a real treat. The topic of this blog is Astronomical Cabin fever I feel all out of sorts this nagging winter depression I am in . Yup I'm in a funk these past few days a real Debbie downer of sorts. So I am really thinking of spring weather and warmer nights for my favorite hobby visual astronomy. I just purchased a spring time astro tool maybe a bit early a SVBONY 90mm f/5.5 refractor a real wide field of view master . I have been lusting over a few new scopes and mounts . So It hit me I thought maybe to buy a scope would pop me out of this Cabin Fever rut Im in. Ya know what? It did not ? Bummer… but I have a really cool scope for scanning the spring night skies. I feel this scope the 90mm 500mm, f5.5 refractor is a wide field scanner will compliment my 6” SCT a real narrow field of view 1.8 degree TFOV scope at 1500mm f/10 . When the optics on the 6”SCT are dialed in it’s razor sharp and awesome on the Moon and Planets . So the 6” will bring me closer to objects while the 90mm will give me vast 3-5 degree TFOV fields of view. So As I think spring and really pray for warmer weather sooner than later we will have warm days and cool nights and finally put this Cabin fever in its place as we warm up and the astronomical Cabin Fever will leave us.
